The Jazba Collective: a nonprofit co-founded by Asha Chandra and Ruchira Pungaliya. Their mission: to mentor founders, connect them to one another, and move South Asian brands from niche recognition to mainstream influence.
On Sunday, Aug 24, Santana Row in San Jose will turn into an open-air mosaic of scent, sound, and story. From 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm PDT, The Jazba Bazaar will gather 25+ South Asian founder-led brands under one long summer sky. Admission is free. Expect street-level serendipity; bites by Fitoor, a live DJ spinning Bollywood classics, and a rhythm that’s part retail, part reunion.

The ‘Heart’ of The Bazaar
The cultural supply chain: Many vendors are bringing memory to market. Small-batch chutneys seasoned like a grandmother’s kitchen, recycled-sari designs stitched with both past and future, hand-loomed textiles dyed in colors that hold entire regions in their folds. These are objects and flavors that rarely make it into big-box retail, but here they take centre stage.
An economic flywheel: Pop-up markets aren’t just about the afternoon’s sales. They spark discovery, lead to wholesale deals, and build demand that keeps artisans employed and workshops alive. Buying directly from a maker turns every purchase into local economic circulation.
Visibility with values: When you know the story, the late-night recipe testing, the reclaimed craft, the cross-ocean collaboration, you become more than a customer. You become part of the brand’s arc.
How we recommend for you to Jazba

Arrive early: First in gets first pick of limited-batch pieces.
Ask the story: Every stall has one; let the founder tell it.
Sample widely: From chutneys to chai blends, taste is part of the tour.
Buy for later: Stock up for gifting seasons before the crowd catches on.
Oh and stay for the music: Bollywood classics + golden-hour light = the best vibe of summer.
